3rd XI
Congratulations to the intrepid 3’s yesterday who ‘yet again, sallied forth, alone, in rain and gale’* and took a comprehensive win over Chesterton. After doing battle with the A34, the Wolves batted first in a 35-over rain reduced game and racked up a creditable 163 anchored by an excellent 55 from opener Marc Lewis and good contributions from the rest of the top order. Chesterton could only muster 36 in reply as Rajat ‘4 wickets’ Pratap lived up to his new nickname in only his second game. There were also 2 wickets apiece for Murgatroyd, JP, and Birdie to wrap up proceedings. This puts the 3’s third in their division after two games that seemed very unlikely given the weather! Credit in particular to Chesterton for working hard to get the game on in adverse conditions.
* Poetic contribution from Wolf McGonagall aka D.Crouch
