2nd XI
Torrential rain at the end of last week meant only the Second XI’s game went ahead this Saturday with even the ‘sub-aqua’ 3rd XI finally succumbing to the deluge. The 2’s made their season debut on an admirably dry wicket on the hill against the Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts. Batting first Chris P fell to a sharp catch in the gully before Ben Madden (58) and Darren Jones (83) steadied the ship, with the Wolves posting 220 for 4. The Nondies could only muster 54 in reply with Toby ‘the destroyer’ Shelley taking 4 for 12 sealing a great win, which was a nice way to welcome our youngest member, Albie Van Santen, to the world of cricket!
