Saturday 18th September saw the presentation of Oxfordshire Cricket’s Grassroots Cricket Awards and it was a big night for Wolvercote Cricket Club, picking up three awards:
- Connecting Communities Award: Wolvercote Cricket Club – For “A Club or community organisation that has gone above and beyond the call of cricket to support communities/groups coming back to the game we love.”
- Game Changer Award: Nic Pinhol (WCC Youth Manager) – For a “Young volunteer 17 – 25-year-olds making a difference in the game.”
- Unsung Hero Award: Chris Babbs (WCC Secretary) – For “Those heroes who impact our game and help us make cricket happen. This could be ground staff, coaches, officials, umpires, or other volunteers.”
Congratulations also to Wolvercote Youth Section players Tom Bratby (U11 Players’ Player) and Jim Lovell (U11 Best Batsmen) for their awards on the night.
